Stephan is a postdoctoral researcher in the Fiolka lab at UT Southwestern (UTSW) and supported by an Early Postdoc.Mobility Fellowship of the Swiss National Science Foundation. He is particularly interested in understanding dynamic processes in development and disease such as cancer (c.f. his JRNLclub contribution: https://jrnlclub.org/research-films/zebrafish-spim-imaging-vascular). In his research, he develops and applies light-sheet and multiphoton microscopy techniques, custom data processing and analysis. Besides his work in the lab, Stephan is the President of the Postdoctoral Association at UTSW and part of the Peer Advocates at UTSW to help students in challenging life situations. In his free time, he is passionate about music.

Stephan loves how JRNLclub enables scientists to share their research highlights in few minutes. These recorded talks are helpful to the specialists of the field, the next generation of scientists and the informed public. Moreover, he is excited about the opportunities to build his network through JRNLclub and discuss exciting research.
